Lets get right to the point, ive got this alienware laptop here that for some odd reason starts beeping really loudly when i turn it on (not a beep code mind you), its like a really high pitch and doesnt have any intermittency to it, just keeps going till it posts then starts again after and right before windows boots, but in occasion itll start as the laptop posts and freeze the laptop until the beeping stops and the laptop resumes normally.
on top of that, I haven't been able to access the BIOS too at all during this event and I have tried various ways of entering it, like F2, F12 and even ctrl+alt+del, but it just doesn't seem to work at all. since then, though, I've only got 7 the beeps of death, indicating that the CPU is probably dead, but I honestly don't think that's the issue. for instance, we took the battery out and used only the AC adapter to start it up, we replaced the Intel I7 2670QM with an old I5 that I found 'round the house and we also tried reseating the GPU, but we still got the 7 cursed beeps.Īlso, sometimes they were 6 beeps or 6 beeps and 1 beep with a pause between them, but only when I reseated the RAM chips. well, almost everything, since it's not working.
